As a trained hypnotist, we can work with your unconscious mind during regular mental health counseling. This is helpful in a number of ways. First, it allows us to specifically pinpoint where you learned and how you programed your mind with a certain belief.

Once we determine the underlying issue, we can then specifically target the experience, and modify how you interpreted the experience. This is how to change beliefs and emotions.

Hypnotherapy is also very good at creating new beliefs and behaviors that will allow you to transform into the person that you want to be; without limitations and carrying around old emotional baggage.

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation during which our subconscious mind is more open and receptive to suggestions that are given. Through hypnosis, your behavior can be modified to benefit you by replacing old beliefs you no longer need or want, with the new ones you desire. Each of us naturally enters hypnosis several times every day while watching television, driving on the freeway for a long distance, even a new romance can put us in a state of hypnosis. Our conscious mind works 1-5% of the time. Our subconscious mind works all of the time, 24/7.

Common Q & A's

Why choose hypnotherapy?

Because it works! By harnessing the power of your own subconscious mind, hypnotherapy is often quick and effective in resolving personal issues and improving focus and performance, whether at work or play. With hypnosis, you can effectively replace limiting behaviors with attitude’s and actions that promote growth and success. Hypnotherapy helps you focus, and direct and maximize your own inner power. It is effective, relaxing, and a drug free choice for change.

When I am under, will I be asleep?

You will be aware of everything that is happening and being said the whole time. You will be so deeply relaxed that you may find yourself drifting into different levels of awareness. Remember, your subconscious mind is active throughout and it is this that hypnotherapists work with the subconscious.

Will I remember everything afterwards?

This depends on how deep in hypnosis you are, but generally most people do remember either everything or certain parts of the experience. You will find that suggestions which have been given to you in hypnosis will resurface in your conscious, thinking mind after your hypnosis and these will be the thoughts that produce changes in your behavior or way of thinking and feeling. I work with each individual prior to hypnosis to identify what changes you want to make in your life and what the suggestions will include. Remember, I cannot force you to accept any suggestions that you do not want. You remain in total control.

How do I know I will wake up from hypnosis?

Everyone has the ability to break a hypnotic trance. At any time during the hypnotic session, you can freely "come out" of the trance state, by yourself or with my assistance. When listening to my voice, you will be assisted to transition back into your normal state of consciousness. During this transition stage of hypnosis t we can maximize your session by continuing to add suggestions (areas of focus) that you would like to work on.

How does it feel to be hypnotized?

Everyone is different. Some people say that their whole body feels like a lead weight, while others say they feel light. Most agree that it feels good because they are more relaxed than ever before.

How does hypnosis work with the subconscious mind?

There are different levels of the subconscious mind. Many people are able to make positive changes without going into the deepest levels of hypnosis, the first time. Think of hypnosis as creating a recording into your brain. When the recording is reinforced by listening to it every day (at least once a day for two weeks), you are reinforcing the recording by creating a new neuro-pathway in your brain. By doing this, the suggestions are etched into the subconscious mind, and you will start doing the behaviors that will support the positive change(s) that you want to make.
